Home Bargains fans say they ‘might cry’ after store’s new announcement

Home Bargains has pleased shoppers with its latest release, with many sharing their excitement on social media

Home Bargains shoppers are ‘on the brink of tears’ following a significant announcement made by the store on its Instagram account. The budget-friendly superstore, renowned for its wide range of products at affordable prices, has just updated its food section with an exciting addition.

The retailer, which boasts a food department filled with snacks, baked goods, and pantry staples, has now introduced a new ‘free from’ range. This selection caters to those with dietary restrictions, featuring sugar-free and gluten-free options – ideal for individuals with celiac disease or diabetes.


The assortment includes ‘go free’ cereals, muffins, breads. As well as gluten-free rice noodles, biscuits, and cakes.

Taking to Instagram to share the update, Home Bargains posted a video showcasing the new items on the shelves, with prices starting at just 79p. In the caption addressed to its 1.1 million followers, the store announced: “Say hello to freedom with our brand new ‘free from’ range! Now available in stores!”

The announcement was met with enthusiasm from fans, garnering thousands of likes and hundreds of comments. The emotional response was palpable, with one shopper named Dom confessing: “I actually might cry!!! I’m going today”, reports the Mirror.

Others joined in the excitement, with Tej inquiring: “About time! Is this available in ALL stores?” Becky commended the store’s efforts, saying: “Great job Home Bargains.”


Kara agreed, commenting: “That’s fab.” Shameena expressed her approval, writing: “Love this range.” Leanne was supportive, stating: “Yesss, I’m here for it.” Susanne even offered a suggestion, adding: “Some soya milk would be great too.”

In addition to gluten-free and sugar-free items, Home Bargains also offers a variety of vegan-friendly foods. For those mindful of their calorie intake, the store has Guilt Free Skinny Whip chocolate bars on offer.

A pack of five bars is priced at approximately £1, with each bar containing less than 80 calories. Meanwhile, Home Bargains is also selling boxes of Mokate Gold Premium Pumpkin Spice Latte flavoured coffee for just 89p – an ideal choice for those who enjoy a warm autumn-themed beverage come September.


Later this year, Home Bargains will close all its stores for three days. The bargain retailer, home to over 600 UK shops, said it wants to give staff a well deserved break. The store will be shut Christmas Day, Boxing Day (Thursday, December 26, 2024), and New Year’s Day (Wednesday, January 1, 2025).
