Learn about financial freedom and more at the upcoming Designer Experience

Next month, Designers Today will hold its next Designer Experience, an event for interior designers that will deliver actionable items so attendees can walk away with strategies to help run one’s business.

Gail Doby will kick off the virtual event on March 20 with a keynote about building one’s business and achieving financial freedom. Other presentations include two CEU sessions (on performance fabrics and human-centric lighting) and two panels (one on hospitality and residential design and technology).

Free for interior designers, the Designer Experience will take place online, beginning at 1 p.m. and wrapping up by 5 p.m. Registration is easy.  

Here is the agenda:

1:00 – 1: 45 p.m.        Keynote: Success ahead: Navigating the challenges to financial freedom

Veteran business coach Gail Doby will provide three key takeaways: 1) Hire for growth and time freedom, 2) build a more profitable business and 3) achieve financial security.

Co-founder of Pearl Collective, Doby has 20 years of experience coaching and sharing innovative ways to overcome roadblocks, challenges and detours that creative entrepreneurs face.

2:00 – 2:30 p.m.         Learn how to propel your business forward with technology

Sharon Dranko, founders of AI-design platform Isla Porter, and other industry experts will overview how technology is impacting the interior design industry.

2:45 – 3:15 p.m.        CEU: How to use lighting to support human health and well-being

This CEU session from Lutron will provide guidance on how to take a human-centric approach to lighting and daylighting design, including lighting quality, natural light, connection to the outdoors and adaptive and personalized controls. Presented by Lutron’s Claudia Jean.

3:30 – 4:00 p.m.          Hospitality, residential or both in 2024?

Hospitality and residential design are intersecting like never before. Interior designers David Santiago of Casa Santi and Quintin Tate of Sevyn Interiors, along with Erin Stone, Hooker Furnishings’ Vice President of Samuel Lawrence Hospitality, will discuss the opportunities that crossover design offers professionals now and in the future.

4:15 – 5:00 p.m.           CEU: The ins and outs of performance fabrics

Join Valdese’s Christy Almond as she unravels the secrets behind what it takes to make the ultimate performance fabric and how to choose the right one. This CEU session will dive into the world of durability, cleanability and UV protection, all without sacrificing an ounce of style or comfort.
